2025 CWS Recap
This past summer, the 2025 Christians Working in Sports (CWS) Conference brought together over 200 believers serving throughout the sports industry in Atlanta, GA, hosted at Passion City Church's Cumberland campus. This was our third annual CWS Conference, and the first year Uncommon Sports Group partnered with ADs4Christ to lead the event.
Each year, the mission of the conference is simple yet profound: to connect professionals in athletics, encourage them in their walk with Christ, and equip them to live out their faith while navigating their careers in sports.
Doors opened on the afternoon of Friday, July 12. The sessions included a keynote from Pastor Mayo Sowell on living missionally as a Christian in sports, a panel of athletic directors discussing uncertainty in the industry, a powerful worship experience led by Passion Worship, and a closing message from Passion City Church’s lead pastor, Louie Giglio.
Saturday began with another impactful time of worship, followed by a keynote from speaker and author Jon Gordon on the power of a praying leader. The rest of the day featured additional keynote sessions—including ESPN’s Lauren Sisler and former NFL player Benjamin Watson—and two panel discussions: one on managing competitiveness and ambition as a Christian, and another on navigating work/life balance.
Gathering over 200 Christians from across the sports world under one roof for the purpose of glorifying Christ is a rare and meaningful gift. Seeing the “church in sports” unite to grow, connect, and leave encouraged was a privilege—and we look forward with anticipation to how God will use the seeds planted at this conference to build His Kingdom.
